Crossfire Client Distribution Page

Welcome to the UW-Madison Libraries Crossfire client distribution page. Below you will find both the Windows and Macintosh flavors of the Commander client, the software used to access Crossfire Beilstein* and CrossFire Gmelin. The databases you have access to depends on your license with Elsevier. For those interested in subscribing or unsubscribing to the Minerva-L discussion list, please send us your email address via our contact form.

*Crossfire Beilstein is an inclusive database encompassing multiple databases. For all new sites subscribing, Crossfire Beilstein includes CrossFireplusReactions,Crossfire Abstracts and Crossfire EcoPharm. For more in depth product information, please see Elsevier's Crossfire web site.

Elsevier MDL Learning Center - online tutorials (free individual registration for academics -- access restricted to Elsevier MDL customers)


Crossfire Commander (version 7.1) for Windows XP and Vista

Alternate download site and electronic versions of client manuals are available via the Elsevier web site **Note, the latest Commander clients are not available for the Macintosh platform, and version 6 only runs in classic mode.

You can download the Windows LitLink 2.0 client here and configure host settings. MDL is looking into developing a Mac client.

First line of support is your campus Beilstein contact person - usually your campus chemistry or science library. If you do not know who that is, send us an email and we will supply you with a contact person.
